Nevada County Police Blotter: Caller alarmed by dream from previous night



7:47 a.m. — A caller near the intersection of South Auburn Street and Neal Street reported a vehicle with trash all around it, looking like someone had been living in it. Officers located the vehicle with no trash around it and parked legally.

8:10 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Colfax Avenue reported people looking through her window earlier. An arrest was made for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

11:26 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a theft. The caller was able to recover some of the items but thought they still had items in a backpack. Two women were in a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers found the vehicle and the women were there with stolen merchandise. Two women were cited and released for shoplifting.

1:53 a.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City were not leaving the property, scaring customers and panhandling.

12:07 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Central Avenue reported hearing several gun shots from the area of the pool and lower bocce ball courts. The caller had a dream about an active shooter the previous night and that was why she was so alarmed. A second caller reported a vehicle pulling another vehicle and backfiring.

3:24 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported someone in a back parking lot. An arrest was made on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance, obstructing a public officer and failure to obey a lawful order.

4:32 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported someone flipping out and yelling at other transients in the camp, scaring customers.



12:16 a.m. — A caller from Huckleberry Drive reported someone walking around a house with a headlamp. While on the line, the caller said it was a homeowner moving firewood.

12:48 a.m. — A caller near the corner of Wolf Mountain and Space Street reported getting a call and texts from a friend that was being taken to the Round Room by her friends. The caller said they had 45 minutes ETA and he planned on blocking the road with his friends to make sure she was OK. The caller said she was being taken there against her will.

5:39 a.m. — A caller from Boulder Street made profane statements to dispatch. The caller said the caller had been accused of murder before and was making unintelligible statements.

10:22 a.m. — A caller near the corner of Branding Iron Road and Chances R Road reported two vehicles with no plates occupied by at least two and possibly camping at the location. An arrest was made on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance, petty theft, possession of paraphernalia and resisting a public officer.

2:26 p.m. — A caller from Annie Drive reported people that had been hitting the mailboxes with baseball bats were on the campus.

7:32 p.m. — A caller from Purdons Crossing reported goldpanning earlier in the day and saw a bone in a creek that feeds a river. The caller said he left the bone there but took a photo of it and can draw a picture with directions to the bone.

8:57 p.m. — A caller from Boulder Street was highly agitated and angry with his caretaker on the property. The caller said do something before I do, then said some very inappropriate words about the dispatcher and hung up. On callback the caller was still a little agitated but were told he just woke up from a bad dream and they don’t need any assistance.



1:38 p.m. — A caller from Broad Street reported someone kept coming into her dressing room and breaking her glasses. The caller hung up before giving a phone number.

11:08 p.m. — A caller near the intersection of Highway 49 and Cement Hill Road reported a vehicle swerving all over the road.


Seems like there is a lot of meth and other nefarious drugs rampant in the area.
